Hoot Tales

The Startled Rabbit

One day, a rabbit was resting under a coconut tree when a coconut suddenly fell beside him with a loud thud.

Terrified, the rabbit was sure the sky was falling. He leapt up and ran as fast as he could without ever looking back.

Along the way, he shouted to every animal he passed, 'The sky is falling! Run!' Hearing this, the other animals panicked and ran along with him.

The lion, leader of the forest, heard the commotion and asked what had happened. Once he understood, he asked the rabbit to walk back with him to see for himself.

When they reached the coconut tree, everyone saw it was only a fallen coconut. The rabbit felt very embarrassed, and from then on, he always checked the facts before panicking again.

Always check the facts before you panic or believe a rumor.
