Hoot Tales

The Cat's Midnight Adventure

One night, soft moonlight spilled through the window into the quiet house. A little cat looked out and felt a spark of curiosity, so she slipped through a gap in the door left slightly open — even though her family always told her never to wander outside alone at night.

Once in the garden, the cat felt a burst of excitement. She chased sparkling fireflies and pounced playfully at shadows that danced beneath the moonlight.

Suddenly, a rustling sound made her jump. The garden she thought she knew looked strange and unfamiliar in the darkness, and she realized with a jolt that she no longer knew the way back home.

Just as she began to shake with fear, a kind owl noticed her from a nearby branch. He swooped down gently and softly hooted, guiding her step by step back toward the house.

At last, the cat slipped back inside just before dawn. Relieved and grateful, she decided that next time she would wait for daylight — or only explore with her family close beside her.

Listen to the people who care about you, and think carefully before wandering off on your own.
