The Rainbow After the Storm

The little village of forest animals grew more worried by the day. Heavy rain had fallen without stopping for many days, and water began flooding the vegetable gardens and seeping into many families' burrows.

A young bird cried in despair, certain the sun would never return and that everything was ruined forever.

The village's wise old tortoise comforted everyone, reminding them that every great storm within memory had always passed eventually, and that a beautiful rainbow always followed.

So the whole village worked together, bailing water out of their burrows and shielding young seedlings so they wouldn't wash away. Even as the rain kept falling, every animal held onto hope.

At last the storm quieted, and a brilliant rainbow arched beautifully across the sky. The young bird learned that no matter how hard a day feels, it's always worth holding onto hope and continuing to try.

Even on the hardest days, if we hold onto hope and help each other keep going, the sky always clears after the storm.
