The Boy and the Broken Music Box

A boy went to play at his best friend's house and saw an old music box that his friend's grandmother had given as a gift. Every time you wound it up, the lid opened and a tiny ballerina figure spun to a beautiful tune. He loved it so much he asked to wind it up again and again.

While running around playing tag in the room, the boy accidentally bumped the table and the music box fell to the floor and broke. The ballerina figure snapped off and the music stopped playing. Terrified his friend would be angry, he quickly hid the broken box behind a curtain and rushed home without telling anyone.

That night, the boy couldn't sleep. His heart felt heavy with guilt. He imagined how sad his friend would be finding the broken music box without knowing what had happened. The guilty feeling grew heavier every time he pictured his friend's face.

The next morning, the boy gathered his courage and walked back to his friend's house. He confessed everything honestly and apologized sincerely, offering to help fix the music box or save his allowance to buy a new one.

Though his friend felt sad about the broken music box, he was deeply touched by the boy's courage in admitting his mistake. The grandmother helped glue the ballerina figure back together so it could spin once more. The two friends' bond grew even stronger than before.

Having the courage to admit a mistake and apologize sincerely is always worth more than hiding the truth.
